Steve Clarke, who was Kenny Dalglish’s assistant coach at Liverpool, has been appointed the new West Brom manager in a two-year deal.

A number of names were linked to the vacant post but it turns out that the club have opted for the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 assistant coach who was instrumental in leading the Reds to two cup finals in the same season, winning the Carling Cup in the process.
Clarke will bring a wealth of experience having worked in clubs such as Newcastle United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and West Ham United, before his brief stint with Liverpool.
Dan Ashworth, West Brom’s sporting and technical director, broke the news and made the official announcement. He stated, "I'm delighted to welcome Steve to the club," before continuing, "We firmly believe we have appointed the right man to keep the club moving forward.”
Ashworth explained how the club had a situation on their hands as they looked to fill the managerial vacancy at the club. "After Roy was appointed as England manager, we cast the net far and wide to identify the most suitable candidate to fill his shoes.”
He continued by highlighting what the club were looking for from their next manager. He said, "From the outset, we decided to pursue candidates who are renowned for their coaching ability and Steve was very much at the forefront of our thoughts because of the clubs he has worked at and the high regard he is held in within the game.”
