Andriy Voronin leads the fight to save under-fire manager from the Dinamiki revolt and urges teammates to back the Russian Cup winner, Silkin
Dynamo Moscow striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andriy-Voronin-c6020 believes Sergei Silkin, the Dinamiki head coach, and the players will stop the rot during the third Russian Premier League round, which will define their season.
There’s little arguing that the White-blues have endured a dismal run ever since the third league round started after the winter break. Dynamo are yet to record a win during the round.
However, the Musora avenged their 5-1 league home defeat against Zenit St. Petersburg at Arena Khimki by winning against the same opposition during the Russian Cup quarter-finals at Petrovsky stadium.
The Policemen's recent form has angered the supporters, who want to get rid of the manager. But the Ukrainian national is at heart of the efforts to stifle growing unrest in the Louders dressing room.
Voronin, who has scored 11 goals while setting up 10 more in 33 league outings, admitted that Dynamo need to work very hard and urged his teammates to claim maximum points from the remaining matches of the ongoing season.
He pointed towards the league table and told the fans that there are plenty of games left until the end of the season. As things stand, Dynamo are 5 points behind the second-placed CSKA Moscow.
Voronin admitted that they failed to meet fans' expectations and disappointing them by producing back-to-back poor league performances. He revealed that Dynamo need to give their long serving manager a deserving chance to alter
the situation despite their questionable domestic form.
“I've always been in a decent relationship with the coach. But on the day of the match, after dinner, we had a meeting. A few hours before kick-off Silkin invited me and Semshov for a quick conversation and the three of us talked.
Coach explained us everything and we have complete faith in the manager.” The former Bayer Leverkusen player was quoted as saying.
Speaking on Dynamo’s latest 3-1 defeat against Spartak Moscow, Voronin blamed the manager for benching their star midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Igor-Semshov-c16748.
