Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan and Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is targeting a return to the Barclays Premier League.
The Spaniard, who is currently unemployed, claims that his managerial skills are more suited to the English style of football.
Rafael Benitez spent six seasons in the Premier League as the manager of Liverpool, but was forced to leave in the summer of 2010 after a dispute with then-owners George Gillett and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tom-c35214 Hicks. Benitez was appointed as the coach of Italian Champions Inter
Milan after his departure from Anfield, however, he failed to live up to the expectations of the club and was sacked just six months into his reign.
The Spaniard’s time with Inter Milan was a nightmare. The Italian giants had won a historic treble in the 2009-10 campaign under the leadership of the enigmatic Jose Mourinho, and by the time Benitez arrived at the helm, expectations were sky high. Every
defeat built up pressure on Benitez, and finally in December 2010, the Spaniard cracked.
Rafael Benitez launched a furious tirade at the Inter Milan owner Massimo Moratti, resulting in him being sacked from his position.
However, Benitez is not one to stay out of football for too long. The Spaniard is aiming to return to the Premier League, claiming that his tactics are geared mostly towards the English style of football. However, he insisted that he will not rush into a
new job like he did with Inter Milan.
Speaking on the matter, Benitez said, “You can't say we will build something and spend three, four or five years waiting for trophies. You have to find the right balance, a club that can win or try to win right now but at the same time prepare for the future.”
“I have had some offers abroad and some national teams, but I needed to stay with the family ... relax a little bit and be ready for the next challenge,” he added.
Benitez has already stated that he would love to coach Liverpool once again, but with Kenny Dalglish staking his claim for the job, the Spaniard’s return to Anfield seems unlikely.
