with the Reds.

N’Gog said that while the experience of being a second choice striker had been disappointing, it had also taught him to work harder. The Frenchmen said he felt he was now a better player than he had been while at Liverpool, where he was mostly used as a
substitute.

“When you are at a club like Liverpool you have to accept it (being behind Torres).
That made me stronger as well because you want to be close to the best and Fernando is one of the best.”
After transferring to the English Premier League from Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain in the 2008-2009 season, N’Gog went on to make a total of 94 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions over three seasons, during which time he scored 19 goals.
It was for this reason that N’Gog felt he had to move away to a side where he was ensured first team football every week. Despite interest from other clubs, N’Gog decided on Bolton Wanderers, after having observed that Coyle had a talent of developing young
players.
He continued:
"I am at the age when I need to be on the pitch every week.”
Unlike many transfers concluded on the deadline day of the summer transfer window, N’Gog confirmed that the club had agreed to let him leave. He revealed he had been in talks with the club and made it clear to them that he wanted regular football.
The French striker revealed:
“Liverpool and I agreed to let me leave and have a new challenge.”
N’Gog said he was looking forward to a new challenge with Bolton Wanderers, a side who had done really well over the past few seasons. If the former Liverpool striker is given a chance to make his debut over the weekend, he will be doing so when Manchester
United visit the Reebok Stadium on Saturday.
N’Gog said:
“I had options as a Liverpool player but Bolton was my first choice and I'm looking forward to working with my new team-mates.
Bolton have really good quality and a good manager and the team has been improving the last three years.”
