After being released from Tottenham Hotspur, French striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Louis-Saha-c22459 has revealed he was considering a move to English Premier League rivals Sunderland.
The 33-year-old is currently a free agent and has been linked with Sunderland and West Ham United, the newly promoted side who are looking to strengthen their side with experienced players like Saha. However, Sunderland are favourites to sign the Frenchman.
Former Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill is in charge at the Stadium of Light and is looking to bring in new signings in his first full season with Sunderland. O’Neill took over from Steve Bruce in mid-season and did well to lead his side to a 13th
place finish on the Premier League table.
Saha revealed while talking to reporters:
“I would consider going to Sunderland. Anything can happen in the transfer market, though, it's always a tense time.
It's all about making the right choices and the nice thing is to have options.”
Saha would do well at a side like Sunderland, where he would be guaranteed first team football. He is undoubtedly close to the end of his career and a side like Sunderland would be the perfect place for him to play his final days of football before he finally
decides to retire.
He will be joining after being released by Tottenham Hotspur. The former Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 striker joined the London side in the winter transfer window of 2012 on a six month contract. In 11 appearances for the London side, Saha managed to score
four goals.
However, his efforts were not good enough to earn him a contract extension with Tottenham Hotspur. With the club experiencing turbulence in the management department, Saha was not asked to stay and was subsequently released by the club at the end of the
season.
When asked if he would prefer a move back to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 since he felt the people there were less racist than in France. The striker definitely wishes to remain in the English Premier League and so far Sunderland seems
like a good destination.
