Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown happy with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Turner-c25393 partnership at Sunderland
Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown revealed he was enjoying life at the Stadium of Light, especially his growing coordination with fellow central defender Michael Turner. The 32-year-old former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international joined Sunderland in the summer
transfer window and since then has been forming a successful partnership with his fellow defenders.
Brown has had experience with three different partners in the heart of defence in just the 11 opening games of the season. However, he has noticed a spark with Turner, which he feels could soon develop into one of the most successful defensive partnerships
in the Premier League, if nurtured properly.
While they have only managed to maintain a single clean sheet between them, Brown is confident he is at his best with Turner. The 28-year-old joined Sunderland in the 2009 season from Hull City and has been a somewhat regular starter for the Black Cats.
Brown said while speaking to reporters:
“Michael has done brilliantly and in every game he has been even better. In the last game at Old Trafford he was superb.
He has had another 10 days of training and he will be flying again when we play Fulham this weekend.”
According to Brown, it was better to have the same partner in order to establish an understanding and flow rather than experimenting with a different partner in every game. Having been with Turner for a few games already, Brown felt Turner was the right
defensive partner for him.
The former Manchester United defender admitted:
“It is nice to keep the same partner and back four in general.
When I was at Manchester United, it chopped and changed quite a lot so I am used to it, but playing with the same person week in, week out does help.”
He revealed it was quite a change for him, having the same partner for extended periods of time. Brown had not been used to that at his former side, Manchester United, since the manager Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson would change things around quite a bit. However, he
had adjusted well and was now looking forward to resuming pay in the Premier League after the international break.
Brown revealed:
“The internationals stop now for the next few months and we can get into the swing of things.”
He continued:
“As a team, we have not been able to train together until today (Thursday).”
