While talking to L’Equipe, former Olympique de Marseille president Bernard Tapie criticised president Vincent Labrune and said that Labrune is not good enough to be president of the Rhone giants
Whenever Bernard Tapie speaks of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127, it’s worth it. The former president of the club with a strong character and a gift of gab and jest is always eager to discuss the situation at the club. the Frenchman also spoke about Didier Deschamps
who was the captain of the last and only French team (Marseille) that won the Champions League all those years ago.
Tapie says that the club has lost its identity and this is why Didier Deschamps is struggling. Tapie also added that the former Juventus manager has to do everything on his own.
“It’s complicated for me to comment. I’m not inside. There is an identification problem. Didier, he needs to do almost everything. It’s hard to coach players he never chose.”
While talking about the roles of presidents at the club, Tapie gave a full account of how he felt about presidential changes. The former Marseille supremo feels that the club needs to stop putting up with puppet presidents.
Tapie feels that the club should not be hiring presidents out of nowhere.
Inevitably, Tapie spoke about Vincent Labrune, the current president of Marseille who he feels is not the right person to lead the club. Though Tapie recognises the qualities of the Marseille supremo, Tapie feels that Labrune is still not the right man for
the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684.
“Labrune, he’s a lovely guy. He played a major role when he was the representative of the shareholder (http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Louis-Dreyfus), for he had the confidence of one who had authority. But when Labrune talks to players, it’s different. He has charisma, but does
not fit the profile. It’s a shame for him.”
Certainly, Tapie is not a big fan of the new dimension the club has taken under Labrune. Under financial burdens, Marseille are no more a force to be reckoned with and Tapie is not pleased at the way Didier Deschamps has been treated as the manager is seemingly
fighting for a lost cause.
