Former Milan striker Jose Altafini suggests Antonio Cassano should join Fiorentina – Serie A Update
The former Brazilian striker and third position holder in the all time leading goalscorers of Serie A, Jose Altafini, claims that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Cassano-c6302 would do better if he leaves AC Milan and joins Fiorentina for the upcoming 2011/12 season.
Cassano joined the current Serie A Champions on December 20, 2010, and signed a three-year contract at San Siro. In his 21 appearances for the Rossoneri, the striker managed to score only 4 times and struggled to find good form. This is the reason why he
made it to the starting XI of the outfit only 9 times during the 2010/11 season.
Recently, there have been numerous reports from Italy suggesting that the striker would be making an exit to join the fellow Serie A outfit http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ACF-Fiorentina-c38209. The move was reckoned to be very likely as the Italian international seeks more first team appearances.
However, the player’s representative and agent, Beppe Bozzo, has repeatedly mooted such reports and referred to them as mere rumours.
However, the former AC Milan and Juventus star, Altafini, believes that a move to the Tuscan giants might be a breakthrough for the hitman and he might find good form playing for the Viola. The 72-year-old Brazilian recommends Cassano to choose the Gigliati
as the destination for the upcoming term.
The former striker, while talking to Firenzeviola.it, gave his suggestion to the Diavolo striker and said:
"I think a Fiorentina move would be ideal because he needs to feel a protagonist and he would feel this way in Florence. Cassano must play and so I feel he cannot remain at Milan for next season. With the European Championships just around the corner and
a place in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 side at stake, he would be better off finding another solution."
Moreover, Italian National team coach, Cesare Prandelli, has warned the Italian footballers that they have to be a part of their club’s starting team in order to receive a call for a place in the National outfit.
