Former Monchengladbach midfielder Gunter Netzer hails Bayern Munich’s transfers this summer
Former Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Gunter Netzer has hailed Bayern Munich’s transfer policy this summer. He acknowledged the impact of new manager Jupp Heynckes and insisted that he has made sure all the weak areas are
strengthened before the next season starts.

“Whoever looks at Bayern Munich's signings will recognise that Jupp Heynckes has learned from last season's mistakes. With the purchases of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424, Rafinha and Boateng, he has corrected the weaknesses in the team,” he was
quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Hamburg SV manager insisted that Jerome Boateng will prove to be a success in the upcoming campaign. He added that the German international was used as a right-back in his days at Manchester City but at Allianz Arena,
he would be used in his preferred central role.
However, the 66-year old was unsure whether Bayern are favourites to win the title as last season had proved that even the relatively smaller sides, who don’t have the financial ability, can go on an win at the highest level.
“Boateng is a very smart buy. Even though he has often played at right-back, I have always viewed him as a central defender. However, the past season showed that having the strongest squad does not automatically lead to the title,”
he concluded.
