Former NBA star Lorenzen Wright remembered in a candlelight vigil -NBA Update
The former National Basketball Association (NBA) Lorenzen Wright was remembered one year after his gruesome murder in candlelight vigil. On Thursday, his family and friends gathered at the Outdoor Plaza of FedExForum to pay their
admiration to Wright, whose sudden death shocked the whole NBA fraternity.
Wright was found dead in Southeast Memphis on 28th July 2010. The 34-year old player was shot multiple times and the initial police reports indicated homicide.
On the occasion, all the close relatives and friends of Wright demanded justice and local community’s help to solve the mystery behind Wright’s killing. Along with many, Wright’s cousin, Jareba Vassar was also present and remembered
his cousin with great regard.
“If you know anything, please help us out.”
Since July 2010, the police have not made any serious efforts to arrest his killers. The New Director of Police in Memphis Tony Armstrong has said in a statement that the local city officials must join hands with the police to
solve the killing of Lorenzen Wright.
