Former New York Rangers’ player Brandon Dubinsky excited and eager to play for Columbus Blue Jackets
American ice hockey player and former New York Ranger, Brandon Dubinsky, is very excited to join Columbus Blue Jackets and cannot wait to start playing for them.
Brandon Dubinsky was involved in a five players one 1st round pick and one conditional 3rd round pick trade, whose main character was Blue Jackets’ captain, Rick Nash.
Dubinsky also does not want to be involved in such kind of a trade or deal against and wants some time at his new franchise. He was a part of this transfer rumour for a long time so he does not want to become a part of any sort of thing in near future now.
The 26-year-old center, while talking to media in a press conference in Columbus on Wednesday said that he is relieved and also joked as he said,
"Now that it's said and done, it is a bit of a relief that I'm not going to have to deal with those ... (with a laugh) at least for the next month or so”.
The trade saw forward Tim Erixon, defenseman Artem Anisimov and Brandon Dubinsky sent from New York Rangers to Columbus Blue Jackets and forward Rick Nash sent and a minor league defenseman Steve Delisle sent from Columbus Blue Jackets to New York
Rangers
In a transcript provided by the team to media, Dubinsky told that he had a chat with his new team-mates and all of them are really happy at Columbus Blue Jackets. He also thinks that youth at his new team is great and they will have a good season as he said,
"I'm excited to be here and to be a Blue Jacket. I've had an opportunity to talk with some of the guys here, and they all love it here in Columbus. The best part about it right now is the youth we have, and the enthusiasm that we have -- not to mention the
skill level that I think this team has. It's underrated, and I think we're going to have a good season."
The Anchorage, Alaska native had joined New York Rangers in 2005 and played 393 games, scoring 81 goals, 132 assists and total of 213 points.
