Former New York Yankees right fielder Nick Swisher officially arrives at his new club – MLB News
Former New York Yankees right fielder Nick Swisher has officially arrived at his new Major League club in Cleveland. As he arrived, he spoke to the some media personals and showed his contentment after joining the Cleveland Indians.
“I can’t help it, man, This is unbelievable. I never in a million years thought I would be in this position. As a little kid you dream about playing in the big leagues, but I don’t know if I ever dreamed about being in a situation like this,” star Swisher
said with jubilation.
Nick Swisher has recently signed with the Cleveland Indians after spending several years in the New York Yankees franchise. He played brilliantly in the last Major League season for the Yankees and finished with consistent numbers.
Playing at an average of .272 hitting along with 24 home runs, 93 RBIs and .364 OBP, Nick Swisher played with consistency and earned great appreciation. However, since his previous contract was expired with the Yankees, he signed with the Cleveland Indians
and potentially started a new beginning with the Tribe.
“This is a big deal, I don’t think there is any reason for us to be cool about this. I can’t tell you how excited I am to have him. There were a lot of other teams that wanted this guy real bad. This is a big day for us,” said Indians new manager Terry Francona
for Nick Swisher and explained how his presence will benefit the Tribe.
Certainly this is a big thing for the Cleveland Indians that they now have one of the finest players in the Major League Baseball. Swisher is a recognised hitter and possesses career .256 hitting average along with 209 home runs, 673 RBIs and .361 OBP.
With the arrival of Nick Swisher, the Indians current roster will also feel confident heading into a new season. Currently the Indians have two talented players, who were exceptional in the last Major League outing Asdrubal Cabrera and Jason Kipnis. As
now, they both will be feeling much more convinced with Swisher’s arrival that their team will be performing hard in 2013.
