Former Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton believes that the Liverpool striker Andy Carroll will prove to be a star for the England international football team.
Hughton knows all about Carroll from his time as the Newcastle manager in the League 1 Championship and the English Premier League, prior to his sacking in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
The striker came to the football scene after a series of fantastic displays for Newcastle earlier in the season. He certainly turned some heads after scoring 11 goals in 20 appearances for the Magpies before making a 35-million-pound move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in
the January 2011 transfer window.
Hughton has praised the performances of the 22-year-old in his debut English Premier League season and added the Englishman will only improve from here.
He said, “Andy has definitely developed and what was good for him was being able to play a full season in the Championship. That was a big positive for him and he has gone on from there and adapted well to Premier League football. Now he has gone to Liverpool
and is playing well alongside [Luis] Suarez and I'm sure those two will complement each other very well.”
“There is no doubt that Andy is capable of being an England international for many years but whether he does is down to a lot of factors,” added the former Newcastle manager.
Carroll gained his match fitness recently after recovering from a hamstring problem and he has started to repay the money invested in him by goals on the football pitch. The Englishman opened his goal account for Liverpool in a recent 3-0 victory for the
Reds against Manchester City where he grabbed a brace.
The Former Newcastle striker also got his first goal in an England shirt as scored in an international friendly against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ghana-c2905 on 29 March, 2011.
Hughton admits that Carroll has all the talent required to be an England international star, however, he will have to deal positively with the highs and the lows of being a professional player if he wants to be a constant member of the squad.
Furthermore, the 52-year-old advised the player to work on his fitness, improve his all round game and be adaptable to different situations.
