Pakistan’s former skipper, Salman Butt has come down hard on star all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sahibzada-Mohammad-Shahid-Khan-Afridi-c87933, citing his erratic personality.
While talking on a TV show, the left-handed batsman said that the way Afridi decided to take retirement from test cricket after losing a test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 last year, went on to show that he has always been unpredictable with his decisions.
Butt stated that Afridi should not have accepted the captaincy of the test team, if he had considered himself not suitable for the test cricket.
Last year, when Pakistan was on tour in England to play a 2-match Test series against the Aussies and a 4-match series against the home side, Afridi suddenly announced his retirement from Test cricket after losing the 1st test match against Australia.
While announcing his retirement, he said; "With my temperament I can't play Test cricket,"
Afridi had also expressed that he was not interested in taking charge but he did at the behest of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
After his retirement from test cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board had appointed Butt as skipper of the test team for the rest of the tour.
Pakistan beat Australia by 3 wickets in the 2nd test match of the series at Headingley in Leeds, under the captaincy of the left-handed Butt.
However, Butt was found guilty in spot fixing during the 4th test match against England at Lord’s in London.

Butt has been trying to convince everyone that he was not involved in match-fixing and has been facing hearings in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 according to the local law.
The 26-year-old also claimed that Afridi was running the team like a one man show, never bothering to consult anyone on the field before taking decisions.
He also questioned Boom Boom Afridi’s contribution to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket since the national side is currently 6th in ICC’s ODI ranking.
