Former Pakistan players slam Indian cricketers for their propaganda against Ajmal – Cricket News Update
Former Pakistani cricketers have slammed the Indian players for their propaganda against Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal, saying that it is unfair on their part to question a bowler’s action after he has been cleared by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Saeed Ajmal's bowling action created a fresh controversy during the Asia Cup league match between nemesis India and Pakistan. The senior batsman of the Indian team, were found debating the legality of his deliveries.
Basit Ali, a former Pakistani batsman, said the Indians were using below-the-belt tactics to distract the spinner.
"It is unfair to raise such stories and controversies when the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 match officials find absolutely no problems with his action. It is just not cricket," said Basit Ali when asked to comment on Ajmal’s bowling action.
Besides Basit, Pakistan Cricket Board officials and other former cricketers reacted in the same way as Basit, lambasting the Indian team and the media, urging the spinner and his teammates not to pay any attention to negative comments.
The former wicketkeeper batsman of Pakistan, Moin Khan added by saying that the Indian team is under pressure to play in the tournament final and are releasing their frustration by criticising the Pakistani players. Moin has told the Pakistan players to
ignore the comments.
"The pressure is not on Pakistan as it is already in the final...the pressure is on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Moin-Khan-c77092, the former
Test captain of Pakistan.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Naved-Iqbal-Cheema-c78897, clarified that the players or the team management were not bothered by the reports in the Indian media, and the players are focused on Thursday’s final.
"We had the same situation when we beat http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in the Test series…we go by what the ICC and its match officials have to say and so far no one has reported Saeed's action," said Cheema.
Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council has reiterated that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859’s bowling action is “well within the allowed degree of tolerance”.
