Alan Hutton, the 26-year-old Tottenham Hotspur right-back, revealed his side would not take the clash against Scottish outfit Hearts lightly. The Spurs face Hearts in the UEFA Europa League play-offs in mid-week and despite being considered favourites, plan
on taking the match seriously.
For the first leg of the fixture Tottenham Hotspur travel to Hearts, and Hutton urged his side to be well prepared for the play-off. Being a former Rangers player, Hutton said he was aware of how well the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scotland-c756 outfit would be prepared for the second
tier European competition clash.
Hutton said while speaking to reporters:
“I've warned everyone about what it's like so no one is going up to Scotland thinking it's going to be an easy game.”
The Scotland international revealed the atmosphere at Hearts home, Tynecastle, was highly intimidating and could go on to make the difference for the host side. This is exactly why he wanted his side to be cautious and well prepare before going into the
match.
Hutton admitted he felt Tynecastle was somewhat similar to White Hart Lane, in terms of the atmosphere created by the supporters. However, he was certain the London side would be well prepared for the upcoming clash.
He said:
“Tynecastle can be an intimidating environment - the fans are close to the pitch which creates an intense atmosphere.
In some ways it's actually quite like White Hart Lane.”
Hutton continued:
“It's going to be a tough test for us - and no one down here is treating it lightly.
The boys will need to be on their game in the first leg or Hearts will punish them.
But, trust me, the boys are right up for this game.”
Hutton began his senior career with Rangers in the 2002-2003 season and went on to play for the Scottish outfit until the January transfer window of 2007-2008 season. He made a total of 122 appearances in all competitions and scored four goals.
He transferred to White Hart Lane in the January transfer window of 2008 from Rangers for an estimated fee of £9 million. He made 40 appearances for the Spurs before he was loaned out to Sunderland in the winter transfer window of 2010 for the remainder
of the 2009-2010 season.
He returned to White Hart Lane last season and made 26 appearances, scoring two goals. He is expected to be selected by manager Harry Redknapp for the trip to Hearts.
