Former Renault technical head Bob Bell to join Mercedes in April 2011 – Formula 1 news
It was recently revealed by Team Mercedes that ex-Renault technical director and team principal Bob Bell is going to join them in the 2011 Formula 1 season.
He is expected to join the team starting from April as their technical director and he will work from the team’s Brackley headquarters and also help the team boss Ross Brawn in taking care of team’s operations.
He was with Renault during the time Fernando Alonso secured the drivers’ title and the team secured the constructors’ titles as well for the years 2005 and 2006. It is believed that he and Flavio Briatore were the two main people who enabled the team to
step up so quickly and win titles. Other than that, he took the team principal’s spot after Flavio Briatore was dismissed from the sport after the famous ‘crashgate’ scandal.
Nevertheless, he is going to be with Team Mercedes in 2011 and it seems that he has a pretty good chance of pulling it off once again with them they are expected to be one of the top running teams of the 2011 Formula 1 season. They are expected to compete
for the titles as well since they have two amazing drivers.

of Mercedes-Benz in motorsport,” Bell said.
The team has the seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg and it seems that since the team has made its new car especially for Michael Schumacher’s likings this time. It is expected they are going to perform much better than they did
in 2010.
Ross Brawn is delighted to welcome Bob to the team as their technical director and he is confident that his appointment will affect the team’s performance in a positive way and he is going to help the team in all fields of the sport. He also stated that
Bob is one of the best engineers in the sport.
“Bob will be an important asset to our team, bringing with him a wealth of Formula One knowledge and championship-winning experience, and we look forward to welcoming him at the start of April,” said Ross.
Team Mercedes will be much stronger than they were before in 2011 and they have vowed to perform at their best and deliver a very good car in order to enable both of their drivers perform at their best.
