The former Spurs player says that he has sympathy for the Croatian midfielder, and would like to see him move to Spanish giants Real Madrid. He said that the opportunity to play at the Bernabeu only comes ‘once in a lifetime.’

Modric has long been linked with multiple moves away from White Hart Lane. Time and time again, the player has stated his frustration with the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League, and has also expressed his desire for a new challenge with
a different club.
He had been chased by Chelsea for quite some time, but Tottenham were not willing to part ways with their most influential player, and losing him to a direct rival was not even an option. Chelsea failed in both their attempts to lure Modric to Stamford Bridge,
and gradually cooled their interest.
Now, Spanish giants Real Madrid have emerged as the most likely contenders for the Croatian’s signatures. Madrid have edged the likes of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, and a move looked very likely up until the club failed to meet Tottenham’s
£40 million valuation of Modric.
A number of players have hit out at Spurs chairman http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Niko-Kranjcar-c27926 had blasted the club and its management
a month back, and criticised it heavily.
Now, Pletikosa has rushed to Modric’s defence and says that Daniel Levy should not stand in the way of his move to Madrid.
Talking to Spanish newspapers, he said:
"Yes, I am one of his best friends and I think Luka is doing well. “
"Last year Levy promised that he could leave if someone offered the same amount as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 did last summer. Who is bigger than Real? That train only comes along once in a lifetime. Luka knows this. And working with Mourinho, he will win two or three Champions
League titles if Levy does not break his promise.”
“At Tottenham, he has been among the best in the Premier League in that position. He is also a lovely guy and I’m sure he can succeed at a club like Real Madrid."
