Former St. Louis Blues, Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres’ players Brad Boyes looking to do well
Brad Boyes, a professional ice hockey player from Canada, is looking to join New York Islanders, a team that plays in the Eastern Conference in the National Hockey League (NHL). It would be his fourth team in the league and he wants to do well with them,
getting his place in the All-Stars team at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old has done well in the past and became a part of many All-Stars teams, but in other leagues like American Hockey League (AHL) and Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He is yet to make his mark in NHL and as his only good performance was in first season
when he got place in the NHL Rookie team of the year.
The Mississauga, Ontario native wants to leave the past record in NHL behind as his performance with his previous NHL team, Buffalo Sabres was not up to the mark so he wants improve and do better with Islanders. He is excited about it and wants to capitalise
on the opportunity of playing with young and experienced players, as he said,
"I'm really looking forward to it. Things didn't work out in Buffalo, but I think it’s going to be good. It's a good chance for me to get back to playing the way I think I can play. It's a good opportunity. I'm really excited. It's a chance to play with
a good, young group of guys that has some experience as well."
Talking about his time with Sabres, the right winger told that it was lack of understanding which caused problems and there were things between them which became cause of his failure, as he said,
"There's a lot of guys with similar styles of play, so I kind of had to shift around and change things up. There's probably a thousand different things, but I think overall it just wasn't a great fit for me”.
The 6-foot-1, 197 pounder made his NHL debut in 2005-2006 for Boston Bruins and played full games in first season, scoring 69 points. He moved to St. Louis Blues in the following season, before making a move to Boston Bruins in 2010.
