Former St. Louis Blues President to interview against with Columbus Blue Jackets -NHL Update
With a follow up on former St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations, John Davidson, who tendered his resignation just days earlier, is reported to be readying up for another interview with the Columbus Blue Jackets, and this time, a significant announcement
just might be made.
The Columbus Dispatch was the one to make the report public after getting insider information, but there is no official comment from Davidson’s side whether the news of him going into another meeting with the Columbus management is possible in the upcoming
days or not.
In his previous interviews post the resignation from the St. Louis Blues side of the National Hockey League (NHL), Davidson made it quite clear that he was surely in touch with the Blue Jackets and will continue to do so.
"If [my next stop] is Columbus, I can tell you this: That hockey club is better than the one we took over in St. Louis," Davidson told the Dispatch last week. "That club was way, way down the ladder. But this Blue Jackets team is not that far away. There
are some pieces there to work with, absolutely. They've got some real players there, boy."
After the contract buyout, reports emerged on John Davidson looking into a contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets as he was looking for another challenge as he was a major contributor in the St. Louis Blues having one of their most successful seasons in
franchise history. Something that has surprised fans a lot was his statement on how the Blue Jackets are nothing compared to what the Blues were when he took charge, in terms of how low they ranked in the league.
Davidson is one of the senior executives who can definitely turnaround a team’s performance and do the needed as the Columbus Blue Jackets have made the playoffs just once in the past decade and also have lost captain and long time face of the organisation
of the franchise, Rick Nash, who is now part of the New York Rangers.
Updates and developments should be expected in the upcoming days as John Davidson gets in touch.
