Former Utah Jazz Coach Jerry Sloan shows interest in Charlotte Bobcats coaching position-NBA Update

Jerry Sloan, former Utah Jazz coach is weighing his options to return to the mainstream after missing the action for a whole season. This time he has shown his interest to coach Charlotte Bobcats.
Bobcats slot for the coaching position is vacant ever since the franchise fired Paul Silas. According to Charlotte Bobcats president of basketball operations Rod Higgins, they are looking for a candidate that wants to win. In the
pursuit of absolute coach they have interviewed many formal legends of the game. In the past week they have interviewed Patrick Ewing, Dave Joerger amongst many others.
However no one enjoys the repute and statute of Sloan. According to the sources the 70-year-old legendary coach feels that he is good for another run. He is currently eying multiple options and apart of Bobcats he showed his interest
in Orlando Magic, they fired Coach Stan Van Gundy and general manager Otis Smith on Monday.
Jerry has spoken with Bobcats minority owner Michael Jordan on Tuesday and will be meeting him for the job interview in this week. He acknowledged the fact that taking the reins of Bobcats will put massive burden on his shoulders,
as they went down this season after breaking all previous worst record. But Sloan said that it will not prevent him from considering Charlotte.
“Obviously, you probably wouldn’t win (a championship) right off the bat,” he said. “But sometimes it’s not all about starting on top.”
Bobcats closed the regular season with a 7-59 record after trading their key assets. They had a winning percentage of 0.106, the worst ever, even surpassing the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers.
Sloan is very well aware of the fact that team is oozing with inexperienced youth and more are coming their way after the lottery. He will have to articulate a team out of uncooked clay, the dream of MJ.
But this is his desire and in contrast to all the other candidates MJ will put his eggs in Sloan basket. Jerry, after taking around 15 months off from the game thinks that he is “terrific” and his health is “good” but he is not
desperately looking for a job. During a candid session with Fox Sports he said that he is waiting and watching, how things turnaround.
“I just stay out of the way and see what happens,” Sloan said. “If there’s some interest in me, fine. If there’s not, I understand that, too.”
His legacy is spread over 26 years and over that time he has won 1,221 matches and lost 803. He also holds the distinction of reaching 1000 victories with a single team, Utah Jazz. He led Jazz into NBA’s 1997 and 1998 finals but
they lost both times.
His tenure with Utah, more than 2 decades makes him the longest-tenured head coach in US major league sports. He collected many esteemed awards on the way. In 2009 he was selected as the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee.
One thing is guaranteed if things went fine than Bobcats will never remain the same.
