Former Vancouver Canucks’ captain Roberto Luongo still looking for a final destination- NHL Update
Roberto Luongo, former captain of the Vancouver Canucks of Northwest Division of the National Hockey League (NHL) and a veteran goaltender, has not found his final destination yet but he is looking for one but his team seems to be very patient and in no
hurry to trade their player off just yet.
Luongo has recently been linked with a move to Florida Panthers and Chicago Blackhawks but nothing has been decided or done yet, hanging the fate of the 33-year-old in the balance. And now it seems as if, this thing is putting some stress on the Canadian
goaltender, though he is not showing it.
A little stress on Luongo’s mind was revealed by his twitter post in which he tweeted,
“This Dwight Howard trade speculation is really starting to annoy the c**p out of me.”
It can be assumed that it was Roberto Luongo talking about his own case, taking Dwight Howard’s name, who is an American Basketball professional playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for Orlando Magic and has a case pretty similar to Roberto
Luongo’s.
Roberto Luongo had revealed that he might be moving to Florida Panthers, while talking to Sunrise News Network, after which the news network had published the headline, “Luongo admits he ‘might be’ a Panther soon”.
Chicago Blackhawks is another team that was told to be interested in Roberto Luongo, which even led to speculations of Roberto Luongo being exchanged for Dave Bolland. Bolland is a very big and long time rival of Henrik Sedin so it would be interesting to
see both of them in the same team.
Few days back, Luongo had said,
"There are a lot of cities that are great to play in and Chicago is definitely one of them. But I think you've got to realize that it works both ways. There's not only me involved in this decision, there's also a question if the Blackhawks would be interested
and if the team (Canucks) would be interested in trading me there and if I'd be willing to go there. It's more than just me that has to decide where I want to go."
Roberto Luongo was first signed by Vancouver Canucks in 2006 season and became their captain in 2009 season. In 2010 season Henrik Sedin replaced him as captain as he stepped down himself.
Luongo had also signed an 12-year contract two years back but now he thinks it is him time to move on and find a new destination after he is unable to break the jinx and win the Stanley Cup for Vancouver Canucks. Even though Vancouver Canucks have won Presidents’
Trophy two times in a row in 2010-2011 season and 2011-2012 season but Roberto Luongo is not satisfied with it and wants more.
