Former Wallabies player Stephan Hoiles departs from Brumbies – Rugby News
Former Australian player, Stephan Hoiles, who has represented ACT Brumbies in Super Rugby championship during last four seasons, has finally decided to part ways with the derby due to an injury to his Achilles. Hoiles' decision to quit from Brumbies came
on November 30 and he said that it was difficult for him to carry on with the injury. The player has been facing problems for the last 18 months. Hoiles has represented the Australian derby in 29 Super Rugby matches.
Hoiles started off his Super Rugby career with New South Wales Waratahs in 2004 and made his first and last shift to the Brumbies after playing a couple seasons of championship. He remained a part of Waratahs in 26 games as a flanker. He impressed the critics
with his brilliant performance and was hired by Brumbies initially for two seasons.
Hoiles has also played for Wallabies in international competitions. He earned 16 test caps for his country and scored 15 points during those clashes. He has remained part of Wallabies side for at least six years but various injuries have created hurdles
for him to play more tests for his team.
Furthermore, he was able to play for Brumbies just once during the last 18 months due the Achilles injury and was hopeful to take part in forthcoming season of Super Rugby. However, his recent medical reports proved devastating for him as they revealed that
flanker will not be fit at the start of championship.
Talking to the reporters on November about his separation from Brumbies, Stephan Hoiles said that, “Because of my injury this past year has been a difficult one for the club and for me, but we have had a good discussion and I feel very comfortable with the
decision we have mutually agreed on.  My rehab is coming along well and it's my intention to return to the playing field in the not too distant future.”
He also said that, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Brumbies and it was a privilege to play and also captain a team that has such a strong connection with its community.”
Brumbies coach Jake White was saddened with the news of Hoiles’ outgoing.
