<p><strong>Former West Australian All-rounder Theo Doropoulos gets a central state contract by South Australian cricket on June 30, 2011 – Cricket News Update</strong></p>
<p>State Coach for South Australian cricket signed the former West Australian all-rounder, Theo Doropoulos, and granted him the state contract today, June 30, 2011.</p>
<p>Berry kept his promise and elevated the grade players to the state level. Theo’s addition to Redbacks is followed by all-rounder Chadd Sayers and the off-spinner Nathan Lyon.</p>
<p>Rookie list fast bowlers Kane Richardson and Michael Delaney were also awarded the full contracts.</p>
<p>The two new all-rounders replaced the ones promoted last year, because of their exceptional performances in the recent past. The demoted players are Rob Cassell and Tim Lang.</p>
<p>Doropoulos won the Jack Ryder Medal for 2011 as he performed really well and remained the highlight of club competitions in Victoria.</p>
<p>This 26-year-old batting all-rounder switched to Melbourne and this transition had a pleasant impact on the player. That season, he scored 672 runs and took added 25 wickets to his credit which earned him the elevation to the state level.</p>
<p>The second addition Chadd is a bowling all-rounder and according to Coach berry, they both add balance to the team.</p>
<p>Chadd Sayers also had remarkable 2010/11 season which earned him Bradman Medal for season’s top performance of 58 wickets and 303 runs. This achievement in turn helped him to reach to the State level cricket.</p>
<p>After these changes, the final squad includes: Cullen Bailey, Aiden Blizzard, Cameron Borgas, Daniel Christian, Tom Cooper, Michael Delaney, Theo Doropoulos, Callum Ferguson (Cricket Australia contract), Peter George, Jake Haberfield, Daniel Harris, Michael
Klinger, Tim Ludeman, Nathan Lyon, Aaron O'Brien, Gary Putland, Kane Richardson, Chadd Sayers, James Smith.</p>
<p>State Coach Berry talked about the addition of 2 all-rounders and said, “These two cricketers have excelled at this level, and deserve this opportunity. Theo is a batting all-rounder while Chadd comes to us as a bowling all-rounder, giving our squad more
balance and depth”.</p>
<p>Jamie Cox, Director State Cricket, supported Berry for taking this decision and showed confidence in his action.</p>
<p>“Darren is a strong character and a proven educator. His commitment and vision for the squad was one of the key reasons he was appointed in March,” he said.</p>
<p>Club and the players have high hopes from these changes and they seek fruitful results.</p>
