English Premier League side Aston Villa have confirmed the departure of first team coach Kevin MacDonald, which will bring an end to his 17 year affiliation with the club.
After retiring as a football player, MacDonald began his managerial career with Leicester City as the caretaker manager in 1994. In 2003, he left to join the Aston Villa Reserves, where he has stayed up until now, along with being made the senior team’s
caretaker in 2010.
MacDonald said on the club’s official website:
“I've had an incredible 17 years at Aston Villa, one of the biggest clubs in the country, and wish to thank all the staff and players I have worked with during my time at the club. I wish Aston Villa every success in the future.”
It was after the resignation of former boss Martin O’Neill that MacDonald was given the role of the caretaker manager at the club. There was no doubt that the 51-year-old possessed the required experience to manage the English Premier League side, having

His first game in charge of Aston Villa came against West Ham United on the opening day of the 2010-2011 season. The Villains managed a win and then went on to draw their Europa League qualifier 1-1 against Rapid Vienna. After a 6-0 defeat to Newcastle United,
MacDonald led his side to a win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043.

He has been an integral part of the success we have enjoyed at academy and reserve team level and, in assuming his caretaker responsibilities at the beginning of the 2010-11 season, he cemented his position as a man who will always command respect at
this club.”
