Former coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Debu-Mitra-c53448 thinks Sourav Ganguly can silence critics – IPL news
The former Indian Captain, Sourav Ganguly’s first coach, Debu Mitra, believes that the left-handed player has the potential and grit to prove his critics wrong after making a comeback in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 4.
Mitra said that Ganguly’s blistering comeback can shut all the critics’ mouths. He explained that by performing well in the rest of the tournament playing for a new team, Pune Warriors India, he can support their bid to qualify for the final stages of the
IPL season.
Ganguly was picked by the Pune Warriors http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kerala-c803, was interested
in bringing Ganguly back in to their squad but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) rejected the offer due to some official’s objections.
Now, the former India skipper has a chance to make a mark and beat his detractors. Mitra was very confident about ‘dada’ having a successful return to the IPL. While talking to local media, the coach of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saurashtra-c839 said, "Sourav (Ganguly) has the drive. I
know he is a very determined guy. He will not take anything lying down, personally, I am glad for him. Pune Warriors are a good team."
The most successful former captain of team India, Ganguly, may slip at this age of 38 but the coach has a different point of view about him. "Remember he played for India for eight years. Cricket is the same for everyone. Nobody wants to go away from the
game," Mitra said. "It gives you name and fame. Once you are aware of that, you don't give up. To achieve (success) once again is tough, but Sourav is a strong man."
Without a doubt, Ganguly is a clear reflection of the experienced and classy cricketers in the cricket world but fitness problems could complicate his plan of performing as a one man show. Mitra stated that he did not see Ganguly play last year but he was
sure that he has done what he needed to do to face that challenge.
Ganguly from 2008-2010 has played 40 games of the IPL, scoring 1031 runs including a highest score of 91 runs setting his average at  28.63. He has also scored seven half-centuries in this format of game.
