Former ice hockey player and co-owner of Pittsburgh Penguins buys a $20 million home
Mario Lemieux, a former professional ice hockey player who played for Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League (NHL) and now is co-owner of the same team, bought a new house for $20 million in Montreal.
This must have taken the attention of all the locked out players who have been out of NHL for some time and not getting the high salaries that they had signed for. Journal de Montreal, a French language newspaper in Canada published some pictures of the
new house and also gave details of it.
According to the newspaper, the home was being built for a long time and was under construction for last three years. It has been built on a big area and has a lot of luxurious facilities.
According to some reports, there are 10 washrooms and 23 rooms in the home, along with a Swimming Pool in it. There is also a Tennis court in the house where the player could try some Tennis skills in the free time. It is also at a very preferred place,
with a golf course near it and also got ski slopes at some distance.
This is said to the second home of the former player as he lives in Sewickley right now. He also refused to give any comment on his new home when asked about it.
The Hall of Famer, who was inducted in the hall of fame in 1997, is remembered as one of the greatest players of all time and has a lot of respect in the hearts of Pittsburgh Penguins’ fans. During his time as player, he won two Stanley Cup titles for his
team and then came back as a Chairman to win one in 2009.
The 47 year old became a key part of the Penguins’ team ever since he was picked first overall in the 1984 NHL Draft and is famously remembered for recovering from cancer and coming out of retirement after becoming the hall of famer.
In his 915 games NHL career, he went on to score more than 1000 points as he scored 690 goals, 1033 assists and a total of 1723 points.
