Former players Gernander, Bennett, Morrison and White to be inducted into AHL Hall of fame
American Hockey League (AHL) President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) David Andrews .announced the name of players who would be inducted into AHL Hall of fame and they are Harvey Bennett Sr, Ken Gernander, Jim Morrison and Peter White.
The ceremony of induction would take place in Providence, Rhode Island on 28th January 2013 at Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
In a statement David Andrews announced the names and paid a tribute to all the great players as he said,
 "With their illustrious careers and outstanding achievements, these four individuals represent the best of the best in the storied history of the American Hockey League”.
Late Harvey Bennett Sr, one of the best goaltenders Canada ever produced, played 13 years in AHL and also got the honour of playing NHL. He played 540 games, winning 260 of them and featured in 25 NHL games for Boston Bruins.
Died in 2004, Bennett Sr was also proud father of 6 sons, 3 of which played NHL, one played WHL, one IHL and one of them died heroically while saving a dog from drowning.
Second player is Ken Gernander, who is one of the best players who ever played in AHL and also among the highest scorers of the league.
Currently the head coach of Connecticut Whale in the league, former right winger played 14 years of professional hockey in AHL, 11 of them at Binghamton and Hartford. He had his number 12 retired by Whale after he retired in 2005.
Jim Morrison, an 81-year-old former defenseman, who was one of the best blue liners of his time, something which is clearly indicated by the long span of 22 years of his hockey career.
Morrison played 11 years in AHL, eight for Quebec Aces and three for Baltimore Clippers. He also went onto play for several NHL teams.
The last inductee this year would be Peter White, who also enjoyed a very long hockey career and played for Philadelphia Phantoms, Cape Breton Oilers, St. Johns Maple Leafs and Utah Grizzlies.
In total he played 747 AHL games, scoring 250 goals, 533 assists for 783 points.
