Former players condemn Younis Khan's snub
Former cricketers have hopped on to the band wagon to condemn PCB's decision to snub Younis Khan for the series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE) next month.
Former Pakistan players generally believe that Younis should be immediately inducted into the Pakistan cricket team which is lacking in experience in the batting department as his presence will bring a calming effect on the younger players. Many others felt
that the team management was consistently neglecting Younis which was injustice to the player. As a result of such decisions by the PCB, only http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 cricket was suffering.
Former leg spinner Abdul Qadir, who has also worked as a selection head previously, felt that there was a need to end the differences between the board and Younis Khan as this long running saga was damaging Pakistan’s already tarnished image. Qadir admitted
that Younis is a vital player for Pakistan and can serve the national team for another two good years. He further added that Younis was much more agile and fit than some of the other veterans in the team.
Amir Sohail was infuriated by the non-selection of Younis Khan who said that the Karachi-based player should be immediately included in the team because Pakistan had already suffered a lot because of his absence.
Younis Khan led Pakistan to World Cup glory in England in 2009 and he now finds himself out of the current side for standing against the decisions of board.
Iqbal Qasim, a former chief selector, termed the overlooking of Younis an 'ego' problem. He further said that every person should understand that personal differences cannot be dragged into professional work. Qasim isn’t pleased by the way the entire episode
is being handled by the PCB and wants the Sports ministry to step in and resolve the issue.
Younis http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 won his case against an indefinite ban which was forced on him in July and his ban was overturned with immediate effect. Despite that, Khan finds himself out of the national squad.
After a wave of criticism, the tight lipped chief selector of Pakistan finally broke his silence and defended his decision for not picking the former captain in the final squad which is due to play in UAE next month.
Pakistan's chief selector http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-c77587 Khan said that the controversial batsman is yet to get clearance from the Chairman PCB and Mr. Butt being the boss has the authority to interfere in cricket matters. He further added that as soon as Younis gets the green
signal he will be included in the team as he brings experience to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/A-Young-c41367 side.
He wasn’t included for the tour of England where Pakistan played two series; one against the Aussies and the other one against England. Though Pakistan managed to level the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 but their batting weaknesses were exposed against the
English bowling line-up. To solve the batting crisis Mohammad Yousuf was called back in the team who had earlier announced his retirement as a mark of protest against the indefinite ban.
Iqbal Qasim wasn’t pleased with appointment of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 as the skipper of the national side. He further added that funny incidents like these can only happen in Pakistan as a player who wasn’t able to make the final cut has been appointed to lead that
side.
