Bruno Senna became a part of Hispania Racing Team and began his debut season in the Formula 1 earlier this year. The young Brazilian driver was unable to score a single point after a disappointing performance by the team. HRT was also introduced this year
along with 2 other new teams namely Team Lotus and Virgin Racing Team.
Bruno Senna is the nephew of the legendary Ayrton Senna who is known as one of the best drivers this sport has ever produced. However, Bruno was unable to prove himself this year but since he has just begun his journey in the sport, he has a long way to
go. HRT is one of those 6 teams that have not confirmed their drivers for the 2011 Formula 1 season yet.
HRT is yet to confirm both of its drivers and it seems since the company is going through turmoil for the last couple of days, they are not expected to announce their drivers’ line-up anytime soon.
There were many rumours that HRT is up for sale since the team did not have good sponsors, they did not have enough finances and as a result, the team could not carry on anymore. However, all of these rumours were ruled out by HRT and it seems that the team
is still pretty much in the game.
Because of all of these problems, Bruno Senna recently stated that he is still not sure whether he will have a race seat in any of the Formula 1 teams for the 2011 Formula 1 season or not.
Senna had an extremely disappointing debut season as many people expected a lot from him but it was just not possible with a team like HRT. However, the team is hoping to improve vitally until next season.
According to Senna, he was close to signing but the negotiations failed.
“There is nothing definite. I am still negotiating but it is not easy to find a free seat. Those with free seats,” When asked what teams he is negotiating with, Senna added.
He is aware of the fact that HRT is not the perfect place to showcase his talent and it seems that the best option for him would be to negotiate with any other team if he wants to challenge the “big cheeses” in the sport.
“The season was difficult and I was unable to demonstrate what I can do,” he said.
