Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone: Sebastian Vettel 'very clearly' the fastest again
The Formula 1 supremo, Bernie Ecclestone wants to miss no chance when it comes to praising the new World Champion, Sebastian Vettel. He said this morning that there is a strong probability that the young German will bag the Championship again this year.
The 80-year-old made several predictions for the 2011 season as well as for the future years of Formula 1. He prophesied that the sport could be run by a woman in the years to come. Ecclestone also expressed a strong belief in the seven time World Champion,
Michael Schumacher, stating that if the driver is able to get a competitive car, there is no stopping him. He believes that he 42-year-old is still capable of winning races and championships.
However, among other predictions for the season, he announced a very strong season ahead for the double title winner of last season, Red Bull Racing. Just like many others, he thinks that the three pre-season test sessions held so far, reveal a very competitive
team car. He insisted that the Austrian team will give a very tough time to all its rivals again this year.
The Briton said, "Looks like Red Bull again has the best car and the others have to close a gap before the first race."
While talking about his favourite driver, Vettel, Ecclestone revealed that according to his observation of the current grid, the title "very clearly” wen't Sebastian’s way.
When asked about the ongoing speculations regarding Vettel’s move to Ferrari, he said that every good driver in the sport dreams to enter the Italian team one day.
He added, "At the moment there is no reason why he should have wandering eyes, but one day I do see him with Ferrari. In the life of every successful Formula 1 driver comes the moment when he wants to sit in a Ferrari."
However, he insisted that Vettel has yet to embrace a lot of success, even if he stays with the same team for another couple of years. Red Bull has produced the best car on the track in the past two years, and this year again it seems to be the fastest team
on the grid.
