I was wondering how in Formula Drift it is scored and Judged, how do you get points, is it a race or the angle of the drift that earns them?

  1. It's definitely NOT racing.  Drifting is just new kids way of feeling as if they invented something.......something we dirt racers have been doing for decades.

  2. "Each run is judged on four (4) criteria: Speed, Line, Angle, and Overall Impression.

Speed is a combination of the entry speed on the first corner as well as the amount of speed the driver is able to carry through the entire course.

Line is the judged by how close each driver is able to place their car relative to specific clipping points on the course, as outlined by the judges during the event’s drivers’ meeting.

Angle measures the amount of counter-steer and relative rear slip angle a driver uses through the course.

Overall Impression is the general feel of the pass and how well the other three criteria were executed through the entirety of the lap."

HMS bites, drifters don't "race" on dirt tracks.

And they're not trying to put you down just doing their thing.
