Formula One: Alonso clinches the championship lead from Webber at the Korean GP
The twenty nine year old Spanish superstar racer Fernando Alonso has won the Korean Grand Prix race on Sunday. Alonso has now taken the lead from the Australian veteran Mark Webber.
In a very recent race of Formula 1 at the Korean Grand Prix, the Spanish veteran driver and former world champ Fernando Alonso outclassed all the other drivers on the racing track and successfully usurped the lead over the points table for the world championship
title. The race at Yeongam racing circuit was not at all lucky for the Red Bull team drivers, as both the ace racers from the team Red Bull, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel were not able to complete their race.
Alonso was followed by the British top racer Lewis Hamilton whereas the third position was successfully clutched by Alonso Ferrari team mate Felipe Massa.
Now the twenty nine year old Spaniard is leading the championship standings table with one hundred and thirty one points. Mark Webber is now eleven points adrift of Alonso, with one hundred and twenty points. On the other hand, the Englishman Lewis Hamilton
is on the third spot with one hundred and ten points and Sebastian Vettel is on the fourth number with twenty five points adrift of the leader, Alonso.
Now only two races are left in the ongoing Formula 1 racing season and the lead taken by Alonso in the Korean Grand Prix might be the decider lead of the championship. The race at the Yeongam racing circuit was not less than a nightmare for the Red Bull
racing team. Webber had the lead of fourteen points before the Korean Grand Prix and he started the race from the second spot on the grid.
The rain played an important role in the race and made the track slippery. It became harder for the drivers to control their cars on such a high speed. The Aussie Mark Webber made an error on the nineteenth lap of the race and slammed his car into Nico Rosberg’s
Mercedes car and failed to resume the race because of the disastrous accident.
After the race, the thirty four year old Mark Webber expressed his views very disappointingly and admitted the fact that it was his fault as he was unable to control his car during the turn on the nineteenth lap of the race.
On the other hand, Webber’s team mate Sebastian Vettel endured the sheer bad luck as well as his car endured a mechanical problem on the forty sixth lap of the race.
After that, Alonso and Hamilton fought hard for the victory but it was Alonso in the end, who finished the race first. After the race, the Spaniard expressed his views and told the media that the championship title is still open for all the top five contenders.
He added that in the newly introduced points system one race can change the whole everything. Alonso added and said that the race for pretty bad for Webber and Vettel as they endured some sheer hard luck. He further added that two races are still left in the
championship and anything can happen.
The Spanish veteran is very well aware of the fact that in Formula 1 racing being a consistent performer for driver is very important. Fernando expressed his aims and plans for the championship and said that he will try his level best to keep his winning
streak alive and will keep on fighting for the title.
The Korean Grand Prix race was also very disappointing for Jenson Button as he was able to finish at twelfth. Button told the media that the tires of his cars were not supporting him and it was very hard for him to finish the race.
It was a good day for the German legendary driver Michael Schumacher as he was able to finish fourth.
