Formula One: Brazilian Grand Prix- Lewis Hamilton hoping for a brilliant race at the Interlagos Circuit
A very thrilling and nerve tickling 2010 Formula One season finally reaches its last twists and turns. Like all the other top drivers, the warfare and the intensity of this season would be remembered for long time by the McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton.
The season has unwrapped in a very strange and surprising manner. At one after the other races, the championship tally has changed vigorously and dramatically offering great action and drama, not only to the race followers but also to the teams as well.
Now, though only two more races are to go, the thrill and action is yet far from over.
As the Formula One caravan now sets for the second last round of the season to be held next Sunday at the Brazilian arena, all the drivers and the teams get themselves prepared for another very brutal combat.
The McLaren team driver, Lewis Hamilton, is all set to give in his best at the upcoming race as for him it is now a ‘do or die’ situation. Having bagged 2nd position at the last round in Korea, the British driver now stands at 3rd place
in the Drivers’ Championship. With his 3 race wins and 8 podium finishes all through the season, the driver had been able to bag a total of 210 points while the charts’ leader, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari has 231 points.
However, while talking to the reports earlier today, the driver seems pretty excited as well as optimistic for the upcoming race as he says,
"We go to Brazil knowing that we may not have the fastest car, but we'll have a decent package that should work well. We have a strong engine and good straightline speed, so I think we'll still be quick - crucially, that combination should give us the opportunity
to pass into the first corner, which is probably the best overtaking spot on the track.”
The driver further explained that though everybody is just looking at the world championship at the moment, he is not aiming that. He said that for him the next race is all he is looking for; he wants the best possible result next week, so that he enters
Abu Dhabi with a good position to fight for the last and final points. That's his priority and secret weapon! Whatever happens in Brazil, one thing is guaranteed that it's going to be a very tight battle, the drivers conclusively admit.
When asked about the Interlagos track, the 26 year old declared, "I always seem to have a unique experience at Brazil.” During his debut year with Formula One, Hamilton raced wonderfully on the track. Although he left behind a number of cars, yet
he was only able to finish as high as seventh place, which ultimately made him lose the world championship.
However, in 2008, the driver was able to become the youngest world champion of the Formula One history after having another very tricky race in Brazil but this time managing to finish at fifth position on the final lap, all that he needed to grab the title
of the year.
Last year, the racer had a poor start of the race but was able to demonstrate great racing skills on the track. After a poor qualifying, he had to start the race only from 17th place on the grid however, he cruised through the track marvellously and finally
as the day ended he was seen standing at the podium at third place.
While concluding his interview with the reporters the driver said, “I guess what I'm saying is that I'd like a nice, straightforward race this year!”
and of course his fans as well as the team hope the same.
