Formula One: British Grand Prix, Hamilton Thrilled To Race At Home Land
Since the start of the year, the McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton had been able to keep a smile on his face. The year has unrolled nicely on him with all his stars shinning even brighter since the past three races, where he was able to bag victory twice and finish at the second place in Valencia, Spain. Now, it is the time of the year for which he has waited the most. Finally, the Formula One caravan moves to England, his home town, for the British Grand Prix next week.
Hamilton exclaimed that he feels proud and jubilant to enter his home town at a part of the year when he is already topping the charts. At present, he strands at the top of the Drivers’ Standings with a total of one hundred and twenty seven points. At the same time his team, McLaren also stands tall at the peak of the Constructors’ Standings with two hundred and forty eight points, thirty points more than their closest rival Red Bull. The other McLaren driver, Jenson Button, whom Hamilton also considers his strongest competitor, stands at second place in the charts with a total of one hundred and twenty one points. He expressed his best wishes to his team mate for the upcoming race but still wants to win at this particular track. He also added that he would love to repeat the one-two finish again in the upcoming race, which would be their fourth time of this season.
The excitement and thrill of the British driver has reached to its climax, owing to the announcement of the technological advancements of the team towards their cars. Hamilton is expecting to have a great race next week, as he claims himself as well as the car to be in a great form this year.
Previously he had been able to bag victory at the Silverstone Circuit in the year 2008. The same year he also won the championship, making the record of being the youngest World Champion at the age of twenty three only. The last year had not been very good for him, as many believed that the McLaren car that he drove was one of the worst chassis ever built by the team. Hamilton qualified for the nineteenth place at the British Grand Prix and finished the lowest one-lap classification of his entire career; finally, he was able to finish the race at sixteenth place. Still he thinks that the air is always brilliant at his home town.
Last week has been tough on Hamilton and so will be the upcoming week, as he is heading for his home town and at the same time leading the charts as well. Therefore, he magnetizes endless sponsorship from all around. The twenty five year old driver said that at this particular time, he wants to put all his attention towards his race practice and is trying to keep himself physically and mentally fine but it is becoming really hard to take out time for eating and sleeping. Still he is very enthusiastic to race in front of his British supporters that he knows are going to be really charismatic.
He concluded that he is aware of the fact that there is going to be immense pressure on him, as he has to make his home fans happy as well as, safeguard his top position. Both of these are together piling a lot of stress; however, he added that besides the pressure he is able to feel excitement and thrill, as he looks forward to see hundreds and thousands of his fans wearing the flag for him.
He concluded that this is only the middle of the season and the race is not a decisive one, therefore he is filled more with pleasure, thrill than stress, and hopes to do great. His fans also hope and expect the same from him as they keep their fingers crossed anticipating for the F1 race weekend.
