Formula One Crew speaks out before they head for Silverstone Circuit British Grand Prix

After the much dramatic race witnessed last month at the European Grand Prix on the street circuit of Valencia, the Formula One calendar now moves ahead for its next destination. Now the cars head towards the wide open spaces of Silverstone Circuit for this week’s British Grand Prix. The circuit has been redesigned this year on demand of Formula One Supremo Bernie Ecclestone. The new circuit layout had been appreciated and praised by almost all the drivers as they cannot wait to enter the circuit for the race scheduled to take place this weekend.  All the drivers and team mangers have their own opinions and judgements for the upcoming race as they move ahead towards one of the oldest race tracks of the world.

Dr Vijay Mallya, Force India team principal:

Vijay Mallya told that the weekend is going to be great and it is of course one of the places where they will definitely want to perform well as this is their current home place with all the team’s head quarters as well as the factory lying here. He added that they have made some slight updates in their car as well and are really hopeful to come back from the race with some points for both the drivers.

Robert Kubica, Renault:

Kubica who ended thirteenth last year at Silverstone seems really excited this year as he says that it is a very challenging track especially the initial six or seven corners are amazing. He added that the Formula One cars of this season add to the excitement of driving especially at this track where most of the corners are nearly or completely flat. He was excited to say that it is amazing to drive here as one can get to highest possible speeds with its long wide straights. He added that he is also thrilled about the new section of the track which he had seen on the internet and on TV during the MotoGP races and cannot wait to be there himself.

Karun Chandhok, HRT:

This is the first ever experience for the Indian driver to be at Silverstone track with a Formula One car. He exclaimed that he is looking forward to race there as it is his home place since he resides there in Barkley which is at a distance of five minutes. He told that previously he used to work at the race school of the circuit and it was thrilling to go back there as a racer now. He has raced there as a Formula 3 and GP2 racer but now there are a few changes made on the track since then.

Jenson Button, McLaren:

Button finished at sixth place last year and is very excited to go there again this year. He was thrilled to say that he cannot wait to race in front of his home crowd which is always the biggest energizer for any racing driver. He said that he cannot wait to hear the roar and cheer of the crowd and the shrieks of his car. He added that racing at Silverstone has always been an exceptional experience as the crowds are huge and the motivation and support that one gets is simply out of this world.

Lewis Hamilton, McLaren:

The current chart topper finished the last year’s race at sixteenth place but still he is cheerful and excited as he is going back to his home land. He proclaimed that this race is a halfway stop of the season that makes him even hungrier for success. He added that the last year he went hunting for some victories but always ended short of luck, however this time he has luck at his side and he thinks that he could already smell victory close to him.
He also added that it is a great feeling to enter your home land at a time when you are already leading the world championship.
Well, the drivers, the teams, and the fans all look cheerful as the Formula One caravan enters one of its oldest rendezvous. Action, thrill, and drama are to unfold this weekend at the British Grand Prix.
