Formula One: Cruising through 2010 season (Part 5)
After all the twists and turns, 2010 Formula One season has finally reaches its closing races. The fourteenth race of the season was held in Italy on 12th of September.
The Italian Grand Prix- Italian team returns happy:
The Italian team as well as the Italian crowd were happy from the Spanish driver as Fernando Alonso of Ferrari drove vigorously to pass by all his rivals while securing the top position on the podium. This marked his third race win of the season that granted
him third place in Drivers’ Championship.
The Italian team looked more than happy as the driver visited the factory afterwards for a late night celebration, a party the team deserved well. The other team driver, Felipe Massa was also fast enough to get 3rd place on the podium. But, the
day wasn't a good one for McLaren, although one of its drivers, Jenson Button settled at second place but the other, Lewis Hamilton walked out pointless as his day ended at the first minute of the race.
The eager driver made a poor attempt of overtaking Felipe Massa right at the first lap but only to end in gravel with a broken steering. This unfortunate finish pushed him from the top place to second while Webber once again came to the throne, Alonso ascended
to third.
The Monza track saw Button at second place while Massa ended at fourth. Red Bull was not as fast in Italy as they were in some of the previous races. Vettel ended the day at 4th place whereas his teammate, Webber settled for 6th.
The happy man of the day was Nico Rosberg of Mercedes GP as he was able to compete with the fastest cars on track finishing the day at 5th slot. While the other team driver, Michael Schumacher pushed hard but only for 9th place.
The contention which only one race back seemed to have shrunken between Hamilton and Webber once again opened doors for the other drivers as well. Above all Alonso came back with a roar.
Singapore Grand Prix- Hamilton goes short of luck, Alonso gets in abundance:
The Formula One cars rallied at the Marina Bay Street Circuit last weekend to celebrate one of the most anticipated races of the calendar, the Singapore Grand Prix. The island has been hosting Formula One races since three years now but the charisma and
jubilation of the place is just the same or has even increased than what was witnessed on its first year.
The festive Island is also significant in F1 calendar as it marks the only night race of the season and of course the most flamboyant one. This year’s race was more special because of the situation the championship tally has taken. As the drivers headed
for the race, the difference between the top five drivers was only twenty 24 and now it is 25.
The race saw Fernando Alonso once again at the top of the podium making this his 4th win of the season while second consecutive. Red Bull also returned happy as Sebastian Vettel packed the day at 2nd place while Mark Webber at 3rd.
With this finish, Red Bull kept leading the Constructor’s Championship while its Australian driver, Webber secured top place in the Drivers' Championship.
McLaren wasn't very fast, it was evident on the track as its other driver, Jensen Button ended at forth even though he pushed as hard as he could. While its other driver Hamilton stood as the most unlucky man of the day owing to his third pointless finish
in past four races, after colliding with Webber while the two struggled for third place.
This race has elevated Alonso at second place while Hamilton has slipped down to third in the Drivers’ Championship. Vettel and Button respectively cling to fourth and fifth places. Still, the chances for all five top men are equally strong for the championship,
with just four more races to go.
