Formula One: Driving through the 2010 season with Lewis Hamilton
He spells confidence and determination on the track and sheer hard work and positivity off the track. The McLaren driver, Lewis Hamilton has not failed to inspire and impress the race lovers, whether he is driving or planning for the future races.
The 2008 world Champion was able to make his mark right from the start of his career at Formula One. His debut season, 2007, kept stunning all the race viewers as he outperformed many of the great races of the year making his way to the top. However, he
slipped the Championship Title only in the last two races due to minor mistakes; he ended the season at second place. The next season granted him his desire, as he became the youngest champion of Formula One history in 2008, only at an age of twenty four.
Last year was an average season for the British driver as he bagged forty nine points thus packing up the year at fifth place with two race wins. However, the 2010 season has seen the aggressive man back in action once again.
Hamilton has portrayed great pace and form right from the start of the year. As the season had its curtain raiser race in Bahrain, in the month of March, Hamilton was able to take third place on the podium after starting the race from fourth on the grid.
The next two races, the Australian and Malaysian Grand Prix’s saw the driver finish both at sixth place.
Hamilton gained his form back right at the fourth race when he was successful to end once again at the podium, this time at second place at the Chinese Grand Prix. However, luck did not support him much at the Spanish Grand Prix, which is his worst finish
of the season,  as he started the race from third Grid position while ended it at fourteenth, returning home pointless.
The driver entered the Monaco Grand Prix, Scheduled at the mid of May, with complete optimism and positivity, however was not able to end any where above fifth place, yet he was happy to have bagged ten more points.
The Turkish grand Prix was the turning point of the year for the driver. The rivalry of the two Red Bull drivers, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel, made them crash into each other when they were leading the race, which provided a one-two finish to McLaren,
giving Hamilton his first victory of the season.
This was followed by another race win by the young British driver in Montreal at the Canadian Grand Prix, thus raising him to the top of the Driver’s Championship, a place that was previously occupied by Webber.
Well, Hamilton further cemented his top place by standing tall at second place on the podium in the next two rounds successively,  in Spain and latter in his home town, England.
However, the German Grand Prix weakened his position as he ended at fourth place while the next race in Hungary snatched away his lead giving it back to Webber once again. In Hungary, he faced problems with the gear box of his car, had to retire from the
race while Webber had a flawless race, and snatched away the victory.
The following three weeks of the summer break were tough ones for the restless driver who kept preparing for the next round, to grab back his lead and the strong-minded young lad did what he desired. Right after the break, as the cars met again to battle
at the Belgian arena, Hamilton claimed first position in the race as well as got the charts’ lead back from Webber.  However, he fell short of luck again last week and retired from the race right on the first lap due to a poor overtaking move.
Currently, he stands at second place with a total of one hundred at eighty two points under his belt and the dream of a second championship in his eyes with five more races to go.
