Formula One: Ferrari Hopes To Be Back In Action At German Grand Prix
The season has not unfolded as expected by Ferrari. The team had not been able to have a great first half of the season though a lot was expected by them for the British Grand prix but contrary to their desires, they were not able to bag a single point at the Silverstone Circuit. After the race ended, the Italian team principal for Ferrari, Stefano Domenicali talked to the media saying that the team is angry and disappointed by the outcome of the British Grand Prix. However, that does not make the team lose heart rather they are going to turn the anger into their force and would come back in full strength and spirit.
Domenicali admitted the fact that the entire team needs to stand together and give their very best as the situation is very tough now, with half of the season already gone, they could not afford to lose a single point. He added that every single person in the team now needs to dig deep so that they can overcome the damage they have already had.
The team had been able to score only nineteen points from the last three races and at the moment, they stand at the third place in the Constructors’ Championship, two places behind the Championship leader McLaren with a difference of one hundred and thirteen points, which is already too much to cover for this part of the season. McLaren had been able to bag a total of two hundred and seventy eight points, whereas Ferrari had been able to bag one hundred and sixty five points so far, in between the two, Red Bull is sandwiched with its two hundred and forty nine points.
The season had not been one of the best for either of the Ferrari drivers as Fernando Alonso stands at fifth place so far, with a total of ninety eight points, whereas Felipe Massa had been hardly able to stand at the eighth position with sixty seven points so far.
In the last race held at Silverstone Circuit this weekend, it was anticipated badly by Ferrari but none of the two drivers had been lucky enough to grab a single point. Alonso ended at fourteenth place starting third on the grid, whereas Massa was able to end one place behind him, while he started the race from seventh grid position. The poor start and later the drive through penalty proved unlucky for Alonso, whereas Massa had to face a hard time with the tyres.
After the race, Domenicali urged the team to keep their spirits high and turn all the anger and disappointment into positive force. He added that the team is capable of delivering far better results. He convinced the team to stay rationale, concentrate on the upcoming races instead of losing heart, and be disappointed with the current results. He added that both the team members are driving this season, have a great pace and is by no means a less competitive car for the season, even if it is not one of the best but still it is capable of producing the desired results.
The President of the team, Luca di Montezemolo also encouraged the team, while talking to them after the race at the team’s factory telling them that the team had undergone much worse situations in the past and had been able to rise up. He added that still they are not in a disastrous situation and that there is no reason why they cannot make it back to the competition in full force. He concluded that from the past few races it is clear that the qualifying and start of the race acts as the decisive factor of the race.
Well, the next race is to be held in Germany, at the end of the month, the team hopes to get back in action there, and so do their fans hope.
