Formula One: Hamilton not hopeful for the championship title
The Briton top racer Lewis Hamilton has admitted the fact that this year’s world championship title is beyond his reach, as he has not been able to finish the Japanese Grand Prix, Suzuka race according to his plans.
The points table is still leaded by the Australian veteran driver Mark Webber, who completed second in the race. The twenty five year old is now twenty eight points behind the leader and it seems pretty impossible for Hamilton now to clinch the lead.
The race at Suzuka was won by the German ace driver of Red Bull team, Sebastian Vettel. It is reported that Hamilton’s car’s gearbox caused a little trouble for him and it was probably the only reason the ruined the hopes of Hamilton of finishing in the
top three. While, on the other hand the Spaniard Fernando Alonso continued to show his brilliant form and finished at the third place.
When Hamilton was asked about his aims and performance after the race, the twenty five year old expressed his views very disappointedly and said that Webber’s point lead is humongous and it will be very difficult for him to cut the lead, as he is now twenty
eight points behind. He added that there is some serious challenge ahead of him and he will try his level best to improve his performance.
Now there are only three races left in the current racing season and Hamilton’s plans of shortening the leader’s lead seem to be in danger. However, his recent performance at Suzuka was motivational for him.
Before the race, the Englishman was punished five places on the grid for changing the gearbox of his car and he had to start from the eighth spot. Later in the race, the ace Briton got unlucky again, lost his third gear during the race, and failed to maintain
his fourth spot, as his team mate Jenson Button was able to pass him to finish fourth.
When the 2008 world champion was asked about the matter, he told the media by saying that it was not at all a good race for him as his car created a lot of problems for him. He said that the recent performance is no doubt disappointing for him and for his
team as well. When the twenty five year old was asked about his future plans the Englishman expressed him by saying that he will not lose hope and will try to show his best and grab every possible chance of winning the points.
Lewis Hamilton is no doubt busy in facing all kinds of troubles at once from unfinished races to gearbox problems of the car. The Briton is happy as he finished the recent race and told the media that he is happy that he has been able to finish the race.
It is to be remembered that Hamilton was unable to complete his previous two Grand Prix races.
The McLaren driver added that he will stick to his goals but he is not very optimistic about winning this year championship title. He said that there are now three races left in the season and seventy five more points available but his chances are very
bleak as his rivals are racing at a very good pace as well and giving each other a very strong challenge.
According to the McLaren team Boss Martin Whitmarsh, Hamilton and Button have all the potential to win the championship. Whitmarsh is keen to say that the race is still not over for them and he is very confident that the drivers will give their full and
continue their battle for the season’s title. Martin told the media and said that the race is getting tougher and tougher and things have not gone according to their plans but Hamilton and Button have potential to perform brilliantly at any venue.
