Formula One: Hungarian Grand Prix- The Saga of the Teams
The Hungarian Grand Prix made the title battle more exciting and thrilling than what it had been before. With the result of the last battle, another contender, Fernando Alonso, had been added to the quest. The difference among the top five races is only of twenty points now, with all the top men determined to take the lead.
Well, one could not say what exactly the next seven rounds of the seasons are expected to bring, as the contest is very tight. The pace of Red Bull had been more than threatening at the last Grand Prix and Ferrari was none the less one of the fastest contenders in the race, while McLaren fell behind all the other top teams.
However, these results could not really depict what would actually happen in the upcoming races as RB6, which was flying this season might not be able to do the same, the rest of the season. It is predicted that the tracks in the upcoming races would not suit the Red Bull car, as much as the Hungaroring did.
As the cars come back from the race weekend for a summer break, let’s take a glimpse on how the day unveiled for some of the top drivers.
Red Bull:
The Red Bull driver Sebestian Vettel, who started the race from grid position was initially good enough to make feel that he is going to take away the day much easily. However, as once the safety car came in, he lost his front place and later reported that the radio of his car was not working properly, due to which he had to face a penalty for dropping more than 10 lengths behind. Finally, he pulled hard to finish at third place on the podium.
On the other hand, Webber was the most successful man of the day, as he was able to finish at the top, firstly because of his RB6 and secondly for the risk that he took, which was anyhow successful. He refrained to pit during the earlier laps even when everyone else did, he still kept on moving. He used his super-compound Bridgestone tyres to the maximum and marked a lead of more than 20 sec on Fernando Alonso of Ferrari. Ultimately, this turned to be his race winning decision.
Ferrari:
Well the day was just good enough for the two Ferrari men, as one finished at second and the other at forth place, as they were able to stay in the front all though the race. The competition was tough between the two Ferrari men, as they kept shifting places with one another, while Massa was able to lead most of the time. However as the day wrapped, Alonso was able to make some quick moves to have the race ended for second place on the podium.
The outcome driven from the day was that, Ferrari is currently the only team to keep an eye on the pace of Red Bull.
Renault:
It was an amalgam of a great day, but not so great for the team, as one of its drivers was able to surprise everybody with his finish, while the other had a depressing end. Vitaly Petrov was able to bring Renault up to the fifth place in the tally however, Robert Kubica had to retire from the race after the distressing crash that he had with the force India’s driver, Adrian Sutil. As Kubica came out from the pit stop after having a tyre change, he crashed with the Indian team’s driver, for which Renault had been fined $50,000, accusing of leading the driver for an untimely release from the pit stop.
