Formula One - Mercedes ready to start anew
The Formula One caravan is ready to exhibit action and drama once again after a long break of three weeks. The cars are being impatient, the engines are ready to roar and the drivers are all prepared to set the race tracks on fire once again.
The thirteenth race of the calendar is being hailed by the Spa –Francorchamps track of Belgium. All the teams and drivers after having spent a long vacation are anticipating a great race ahead.
Just like all the other teams, Mercedes is also preparing for the racing week though they had a very poor racing year.
The Mercedes GP driver and seven times World Champion, Michael Schumacher expresses his excitement for the upcoming race, as the driver has already made a record of six race wins on this track. While talking to the Formula One official website the driver said that the track had always been his favourite and above all he feels thrilled for going back to Belgium after a long period of time.
However, he is to enter the race with a penalty of ten grid places and it would definitely be difficult to give a great finish this weekend again like the rest of the year. Still he exclaims that he is only looking ahead for a lot of fun on the race track this weekend.
He concluded saying, “I will definitely try to make the best out of the weekend."
The other Mercedes driver, Nico Rosberg who had shown far better performance all through the year as compared to his teammate seems much hopeful this year. Rosberg ended the race of last year at eighth place having it started from 10th on the grid.
While talking about his expectations and views regarding the next race he told that the short break was a good way of relaxing and getting prepared for the upcoming races of the season.
He told that Spa is no doubt a very challenging track yet it had been one of the most favourites for him since always. He described the track as one with some brilliant high-speed laps along with some great corners like Eau Rouge.
He further added that the last race in Hungary was discouraging for them, however he knows that everyone at the factory is now working hard after the shutdown as they are hopeful to have a few good finishes before the season ends.
The Mercedes GP team principal, Ross Brawn, also talked to the Formula One official website telling that the summer shutdown was well-deserved opportunity for the entire crew to have some rest and fun. He told that now they are all looking forward to have a week better than their last racing weekend in Hungary where both their drivers returned pointless. Schumacher was only able to end pointless at eleventh place whereas Roseburg retired from the race owing to his loose wheel.
The classic racing circuit of Spa has always been one the most favourite tracks of the drivers as well as the race lovers on the calendar. Many of the engineers and teams had shown their special love for the circuit.
The circuit consists of several straights at its beginning whereas the lap ends with a twisty middle section as well as the fast sweeping corners of the track had never failed to fascinate the drivers.
Well, after the break the fans as well as the teams are yearning to have a race. The series is now to enter the last and the most critical part of the race that would be deciding the Title Winner of the season.
