Formula One: Michael Schumacher cherishes ‘Suzuka’ memories
Michael Schumacher anticipates embracing a great weekend in Suzuka as the Formula One caravan leaves for the Japanese Grand Prix. He recalls the fond memories of the circuit, gathered in past years, believing to add more in his stock.
The German driver says that he is aiming to stay in forefront as the track is well known to him, and he has some very good races there in the early years of his career. The Japanese Grand Prix, scheduled to be held this Sunday marks the sixteen race of the
year and also a very crucial one.
The 2010 season has finally reached to its last episodes now, with only four more races to go. Or it may be even three, as the fate of Korean Grand Prix yet remains indecisive for the track is still not completely prepared to host its debut race. The final
inspection of the newly-built circuit would be held on 11th of October, while the race is set to take place in the last week of the same month.
The 41–year-old made a disappointing come back to Formula One earlier this year after staying off the track for three years. The icon announced his retirement in the end of 2006, after having bagged seven World Championships, and rising to a stature of being
the most successful racer ever in the history of Formula One.
However his return, which was embraced with great hype and fanfare, did not come out much as expected. So far the racing sensation has failed to even give a glimpse of the driver he has always been. His inbuilt skills of doing wonders on the track have not
been visible to even its smallest extent all through the season.
Currently, when only four more races are left, he has once again vowed to show a great racing spectacle in Suzuka. While talking to the media last Sunday, the determined racer revealed his obvious love for the track saying, "Suzuka was always one of my favourite
circuits of the year as driving the track is simply sensational in parts. Suzuka is technically demanding and has interesting corner combinations so it was a really good feeling when you got it together."
The driver has a lot of great memories to cherish for this venue, as he has successfully conquered this track six times during his early career. Now when the struggling man goes there once again after a gap of three years, he sees a lot of hope to end the
race with some good points.
While preparing to leave for Japan, he was happy to proclaim, “I am heading to Japan with some good memories in mind as the track in Suzuka was the scene of some great races for me. Obviously I hope that we can add more and I am definitely up for the challenge.
I am sure we will try to get the maximum out of our weekend."
Despite having his claims of a great race negated so many times earlier this season, the good old driver is reluctant to give up hopes.  His team is also of the view that they would be able to provide him with a better car next season, thus allowing the
true Schumacher shine out at the circuit in 2011.
While on the other hand, many o the analysts and race pundits believe that it is now time that the super star signs off the track.
The former owner of Mercedes and now a TV pundit, Eddie Jordan while talking about the German, said last month, "He's not good enough. He should not be putting his reputation and legacy at risk."
