Formula One: Michael Schumacher won’t be able to win another title – Alain Prost
Former world champion Alain Prost has been going through everything Formula 1 is going through since the past couple of years and he recently stated that the 7 time world champion, Michael Schumacher who decided to return to the sport in 2010 will not be
able to win another title in his career.
He believes that Michael won’t be able to compete against the top running drivers either and that his comeback was “unrealistic”. Other than that, Prost claims that the whole Bridgestone tyres issue that Michael raised was just an “excuse” for his failure
in 2010 and that Schumacher lacked pace as it is a major factor as a driver gets older.
“His decision to come back was personal and I respect it. I think it's impossible, at his age, to return to where he was in the past, but I hope he proves me wrong,” Alain told the media.
Nevertheless, it is expected that Team Mercedes is going to be back on the top once again alongside teams like Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull Racing Team in 2011 with the help of Ross Brawn. From the team’s recent statements, it seems that they really do
have a very promising package for their 2011 run.
With drivers like Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, the team is definitely going to flourish this season but one has to admit, Nico Rosberg was the better driver in 2010 by a mile.
However, Prost added that he does not miss racing in F1 since returning to the sport is out of the question. He wants to try out the new technology though and driver for a couple of laps just for fun.
“Like to do some laps in a modern car ... [if] only to assess the developments in technology, which has always fascinated me,” said Alain.
Prost won 4 championships in his 13 year long career in Formula 1 and is considered as one of the best drivers this sport has ever or will produce. He won 3 of his championships with McLaren before winning his last one with team Williams after which he decided
to retire from the sport.
