Formula One: Mid Season Analysis - Rubens Barrichello
After a dramatic and much controversial race in Germany last week the Formula One Rally heads toward its next destination for the Hungarian Grand Prix. This twelfth race of the season is expected to be held amidst great cheer and jubilation as the crowd in Hungary has always shown great enthusiasm and support for their racing stars.
All the teams are ready to have a real head to head match as roaring cars meet at the much challenging and tough arena of Budapest this Sunday.
Seeing at the current situation of the Drivers’ Championship one finds the much experienced and old Formula One driver, Rubens Barrichello at eleventh place in the Drivers’ Standings. He had been able to bag a total twenty nine points so far while struggling hard with his Williams car which is not a very competitive one this season.
The season started by the thirty eight year old racer in Bahrain from eleventh place on the grid while he finished the race leaping one place ahead, ending at tenth place, getting only a single point. At the second race of the season in Australia he started well as he ended the race at eighth place and was able to grab another four points.
The Malaysian Grand Prix as well as the Chinese Grand Prix did not end very well for the racer as he started the races at seventh and eleventh slots on the grid respectively whereas ended both of them on twelfth position thus returning pointless.
At the start of the month of May the teams flew towards Valencia, Spain where he was ready to pull as much from his car as he could. After a poor qualifying he started the race from seventeenth place but had the day ending at ninth position adding another two points to his collection of five points.
Well, the determined driver could not do very well in the next race as he reserved ninth place on the grid but had to retire from the race.
As the season kept unwinding even further, Barrichello moved to seventh race of the season at Istanbul, Turkey where luck did not embrace him once again as he finished the race on fourteenth place while starting it from fifteenth. The next round, Canadian Grand Prix was also another poor one as he ended fourteenth yet again, returning home without any score after another two races.
The best race of the season for him had been the European Grand Prix where he was miraculously able to beat many of the far more competitive cars as he took off from ninth place on the grid and ended jubilant at the fourth place which banked twelve points to his then small collection.
The stars of the racer kept shinning yet for another race as he finished at fifth place in the next round at British Grand Prix, grabbing another ten points.
However, the last race in Germany had not been one that he expected after two nice finishes. He was able to do good during qualifying at Hockenheim but ended at twelfth place on the final race day, another finish without any score.
Currently he has a total of twenty nine points under his belt while his teammate, Nico Hulkenberg, stands at seventeenth place in the Drivers’ Standings having bagged only two points all through the first half of the season.
Now the team stands at seventh place in the Constructors’ Championship with thirty one points in total.
With eight more races yet to go, some more good points could be expected from the much experienced driver, though his car is not a very competitive one.
