Formula One: Mid Season Roundup

The first ten races of the Formula One 2010 season had been flooded with drama and thrill as the teams and drivers dropped in the arena of racing.  Formula One is not any other simple racing contest, rather it is a challenge of technology and advancement, strategies and efficiency and none the less it is a challenge of determination and team spirit.
The competition had always been so tough that there is nothing that could be ignored; any minute anything could make a big difference therefore teams have to take care of a long list of factors. All these tiny features together make Formula One the rich and extravagant entertainment it is today.
The past ten races of the season had also been filled with similar activity. A complete portrayal of drama and performance was showcased on and off the track. The roars and cheers of winning, the crashes and accidents and binding as well as clashes had been seen within the teams as well all through the season. Amidst all the controversies and challenges the season has kept unfolding.
At the end of the first ten races, team McLaren stands at the top of the Constructors’ Championship with a total of two hundred and seventy eight points, securing their top position for the last couple of months now. Its drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button have secured first and second places at the Drivers’ Championship with one hundred and forty five and one hundred and thirty three points respectively.
The second place in the Constructors’ Championship has been strongly held by Red Bull, who have the fastest cars and two of the best drivers of the season, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel. The two had been shifting the third and fourth places between them since they lost their top two slots for McLaren’s drivers. The team has had many conflicts since the start of the race and is accused to have lost their top positions owing to their inter team rivalry.
The third position in the charts is secured by Ferrari who have earned one hundred and sixty five points so far with its drivers, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa holding the fifth and eighth place respectively. The start of the season went pretty well for the team as Fernando Alonso was able to bag victory at the season starter in Bahrain; however they had not been able to maintain their pace as the season unrolled.
At fourth place Mercedes GP stands with a total of one hundred and twenty six points, with the larger share of the score belonging to Nico Rosberg, who had contributed with ninety points whereas Michael Schumacher had a poor luck all through the season and now stands at ninth place with thirty six points only.
The fifth place had been grabbed by Renault who have eighty nine points, as Robert Kubica had been able to add eighty three points to the team’s score whereas the other driver Vitaly Petrov could hardly lay hands on six points so far.
The first Indian owned team in Formula One, Force India stands at sixth place with forty seven points, followed by Williams that have a total of thirty one points. The second Ferrari owned team called BMW Sauber stands at eighth place with only fifteen points in the first ten races.
At the tenth place STR-Ferrari, the second team of Red Bull stands followed by Lotus, HRT and Virgin, all teams being pointless so far.
Now, the Formula One caravan moves to the eleventh race of the season, scheduled to be held at Hockenheim, Germany, this weekend. A lot more action and adventure is expected to be witnessed there as the competition is getting tougher with every passing round. Well, two more days to go and the cars will be heard and seen roaring and thundering on the roads of Germany.
