Formula One Ready to Return to United States- CEO expresses dream of having Female driver, Danica Patrick in Formula One
Despite the fact that United States was not seen on the Formula One race calendar during the last few years, still one knows that the deep rooted relation between the two still stands firmly. All the race lovers are thrilled and jubilant to see the United States Grand Prix back on the Formula One calendar for 2012 season.
The American soil is ready to serve once again, as a great arena for the battle of cars, a dream for which Americans have waited long. The teams, manufacturers and sponsors are already indulged in charting their plans for the upcoming race, as this is one of the most potential stateside races of the calendar. The two men who are responsible to drag the race back to one of the lands that is filled with auto race lovers are Bernie Ecclestone , the CEO of Formula One Group and Tavo Hellmund, who serves as the managing partner of Full Throttle Productions LP. As the next race is announced to take place in Austin, Texas, Bernie talked to the official website of Formula One describing different aspects of the forth coming US Grand Prix.
He started off by saying that he is extremely happy to have chosen Texas to host the next race of United States, as the state has a global recognition which was the biggest need of FIA, while deciding a new track for its calendar. Austin, where the track is embedded is a beautiful city and the track has been wonderfully designed. He added that the place had always appealed masses and anyone who would be visiting it for the first time would definitely be impressed.
While answering a question, Bernie said that he had always been very interested in bringing Formula One back to US but was not willing to settle for a rotten compromise rather he wished to settle all for good. Now he thinks that he has found someone (Tavo Hellmund) who could understand his vision completely and thinks for Formula One in US, the same way as he did. Bernie believes that Hellmund’s involvement would produce his desired results.
However, both the men are of the view that the 2012 calendar must involve an American team or at least an American driver in it. He added that the enthusiasm and involvement of people would be enhanced if a local man is participating in the race. Moreover, Bernie also expressed his dream of having Danica Patrick in Formula One, as he thinks that would increase the interest of the fans as well as of the advertisers in many folds as the series had not seen a female driver since years.
Well, many of the curious race fans are already asking for two races for US in the calendar, as was seen in the past, however, Ecclestone was very clear about it saying that nothing as such has been finalised. He said that one thing is certain for the present that the 2012 calendar is to hold a US Grand Prix, which would be hosted in Austin for anything further he said he would consider. However, he assured that if things could settle nicely for New York, he would love to have it back in the calendar.
There had been speculations in the media as well as among the race analysts regarding the tough competition that Formula One is going to have with NASCAR, which is the leading race series of US. However, Bernie has expressed full confidence that nothing can de-evaluate Formula One. He claimed that Formula One has a global appeal and they had never failed to charm and magnetise race lovers of America in the past and it would not fail now as well.
Well, the fervour and thrill of auto race fans is already mounting in the region and one can see the American audience anticipating for the United Stated Grand Prix. However, not to forget, this is the American people and they demand a lot.
