Formula One: Red Bull Chart leader, Mark Webber will keep accelerating
Mark Webber seems obdurate about the final three races as he is only thinking of winning from now on until the end of the season despite his 14- lead point in the drivers’ championship over his teammate Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso in second place.
The current world champion believes that he will not wait for anyone else now and not rest his success. He thinks that nothing less than a victory would be enough for him anymore and he will apply his new approach starting from the inaugural Korean Grand
Prix set to take place this weekend.
“No, I can't think like that [about playing the percentages]. It won't be enough. I need to keep racing hard and going for victories,” Webber said.
Clearly, this season has been full of drama and entertainment but that is the thrill in auto racing. It is quite evident that Webber is hungry for a win but the fact that Mark Webber and Jenson Button have been giving the same statement race after race is
getting quite frustrating. Both of them vow to get aggressive every single weekend but by the end of the week, they are the safest running drivers in the race. Why is that so, because they are just bluffing?
“Clearly, of course, if my rivals have a rough weekend it makes it a bit harder for them and it gives me a bit more scope, but I'm not looking to abuse that because it can all go pear-shaped very fast,” he added.
What the h**l? Everyone knows that Red Bull won’t be stronger than their rivals this weekend and they are the ones who will have to work harder between McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull. It is getting sick and not in a good way. Mark should at least have some
dignity now and he should realize that he should keep his cool and not state what he cannot achieve. Let’s face it, he has a good lead over his rivals, and he will not get aggressive. However, if he does, he will be the most pathetic leader we have ever witnessed
in the history of Formula 1.
“Having a lead is great, but it only counts when you get to the last race and we haven't got there yet, have we? I think we're all pretty even. It can change pretty quickly - in a good way or a bad way for me. It's on a knife-edge, but I'm very relaxed.
It's another race for me,” said the championship leader.
There is one thing Mark is very good at, and that is not knowing what is going on around him and what might happen in the near future. Seriously Mark? Haven’t you been in the sport for almost 10 years now? We all know that the Australian is going to park
his car on the grid all pumped up thinking that he is going to own everyone on track. Especially his 4 rivals but after the 5 lights illuminate, boom. Webber’s brain stops working and a severe panic attack hits his brain disabling him to drive aggressively.
At that moment, Mark probably tells himself “I am already in 2nd place, I think it would be enough as long as I can keep Lewis busy behind me until he crashes out of the race himself”. Well we have to admit, it is a great strategy. It
worked for Mark up until now. Didn’t it?
Mark is aware that he is not the favourite for this year’s title and after reading what is written above, it would not be difficult to understand why.
The bottom line is, that it does not matter who has the lead at the moment, Formula 1 has been very unpredictable this year and Mark’s lead is nothing currently. However, he is the safest driver in terms of the drivers’ standings as he has a healthy lead
and if he maintains his performance by the end of the season, he would be the 2010 champion easily.
