Formula One: Red Bull Drivers Proclaim Love for Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium Grand Prix 27-29 August
The cars are ready to roar again at the Formula One arena battling for the 2010 season Championship. The drivers and the teams come back to their camps after a long summer break of three weeks with a new competitive spirit, as they enter the last and the most curial part o the season. The competition is very close as the fire of rivalry is much heated now.
So far, the Constructors’ Championship is being reined by the Red Bull, who grabbed the top position at the Hungarian Grand Prix, just before leaving for the summer break of the season, from the British team McLaren that stands at second place now. The third place is occupied by Ferrari that has recently emerged as a very strong competitor of the season, possessing the second fastest car, while Red Bull has proved to be the fastest on the track right from the start of the season. McLaren driver, Lewis Hamilton has time and again proclaimed to be the third fastest team of the season when it comes to pace of the car.
As the teams move forward for the next round, the flames of challenge and contention have reached its peak. The top five drivers of the current charts are separated with only twenty points as Mark Webber of Red Bull leads with one hundred and sixty one points, whereas the Ferrari driver, Fernando Alonso stands at fifth place with one hundred and forty one points sandwiching the two McLaren and one Red Bull driver in between.
The Formula One official website talked to both the Red Bull drivers before they head for the next Grand Prix asking about their summer break as well as their expectation from the race.
Mark Webber who is the only driver of the season having bagged four race wins so far was able to end the last year’s race in Belgium at 9th place, also having it started from 9th place on the grid.
He said that the summer break had been a great way to relax and refresh himself as it is always good to stay away from planes and hotels, and also because he headed for the break with a great ending. He further explained that driving has never tired him and he never wants a break from it, rather it the extensive travelling and staying in hotels that make him exhausted and now as he returns after the break, he feels new charisma and energy.
While talking about Spa, he exclaimed that he does not think that there would be a single driver on the grid who doesn’t get thrilled for this track.
He expressed his feelings saying, “It’s an incredible circuit to drive on. I expect we can do well there, whether it’s as well as I did in Budapest is a question for everyone, but I know our team is ready.”
The other Red Bull driver, Sebastian Vettel finished his last race at 8th place on the track, while he ended it brilliantly at 3rd place on the podium.
Now as he comes back from the season’s vacation he said, “The long break allows you to do more scheduled training, as when there are races every other week it’s difficult to improve your level of fitness.”
He said that he took the break as a great opportunity to carry some more intensive training and worked extensively on his stamina, so that he could return to the track more fit and prepared for the rest of the season.
While talking about the upcoming race he expressed a lot of love and great memories for Spa. He proclaimed that it has the best corner sections as they are long and fast-flowing and he thinks they would suit his car far better.
Well, both the drivers concluded saying that they are hopeful to return from the race with a one –two finish for the team.
