Formula One: Seven time World Champion Michael Schumacher sufferings from simulator
Michael Schumacher complained about the motion sickness this past week taking a test ride in the simulator. According to Mercedes team, Michael has suffered from simulators in past but the champion has no big deal with the motion sickness. However, the critic
says otherwise.
Michael’s teammate a young buck Nico Rosberg also called ‘Play station Generation’, on the other hand, has no issues on the simulator and spends hours on training. He finished 7th last season and securing 70 more points than the champion teammate.
This whole theory of Schumacher being old and sick was denied by Mercedes.
Michael Schumacher is a seven time champion and the only one to win five consecutive championships from 2000 to 2004. He also broke Manuel Fangio's long lasting record of five championships made in 1950’s.  He used to turn, in his Ferrari, 200mph and endure
massive amounts of G force. He has complained, in the past, about the motion sickness in the simulators but his performance shadowed that.
This argument has come forward due to his bad performance in the last season in which he finished 9th in the rankings. He has made his comeback after three years and his performance was down but the Mercedes team is confident that the 42 year
old can deliver this time.
1n 2009, the formula 1 association banned the in-session testing and law of 15,000 km test drive was implied. The majority teams’ uses simulator since than to test drives their drivers. Different simulators are used by different teams but most commonly,
it consists of a cockpit raised on a hydraulic plate form with multiple screens in front. These are more effective than actually driving on the road as this gives drivers a chance to familiarize themselves with the circuit and also choose the best combination
of gear, wings and tyres.
Michael Schumacher was the champion of his time and used to practice on the tracks for hours. But with the ban on in-session testing, the use of simulator has become essential for every driver.
Michael struggled upon his return but the Mercedes team, defending their driver, said
“This is a relatively common occurrence for many people in all fields of simulator activity including military, aircraft and racing cars”. Further, they said that simulator is one of the training procedures and that Michael is working hard with his
engineers to make his simulation more efficient.
The McLaren’s simulator has said to be the best of the best but even on that, the champion has complaints. Mercedes said
“For many reasons, we have invested in higher-quality and more realistic simulation equipment which will be completed and available for our drivers shortly”.
The return in any form of game is very hard as they say to attain something is easy but to maintain is difficult.  As British’s great Sir Stirling Moss said that Michael has two years left on the contract but it doesn’t seem that he will regain his title
again. He further added “He was lucky to get all those titles; frankly, I’m not saying he wasn’t any good - he was very, very good. But he was in the right car”.
